Types Of Systems Providing Hot Water On Demand

There are three basic types of systems to solve slow hot water problems. That includes the traditional hot water circulating system, the warm water circulating system and the demand hot water system. Not all of them are green although they all save water. Here we will talk about all these systems.

Traditional hot water circulating pumps uses coiled plumbing through all the fixtures and a single return line on last fixture. A lot of energy is wasted in these water heaters as a constant water temperature is maintained in the pipes all the time. One drawback of these water heaters is that they can not be used with all tankless water heaters.

Warm water circulating systems have a pump installed somewhere under the sink and operates like a temperature controlled traditional hot water circulating system. The hot water is provided instantly in these heaters. But in this system, hot water could also get inside cold water line which causes wastage of water. As the hot water that comes out through cold water faucets has to be drained out.

With the help of hot water demand supply, instant hot water can be obtained and no water is wasted in the process. For starting this system, a button is required to be pushed. After this, hot water flows to the water faucets and the pump gets off automatically.

No hot water gets into the cold water line and when you turn on the tap you nearly get instant hot water. With the help of the pump that is located under the sink, all the fixtures in the bathroom get hot water fast.

Using demand pumps, a lot of water (saves thousands of gallons) and energy can be conserved and due to this reason they makes a bathroom green where they are installed. The total energy consumed by this system cost you $2 for a year. You can get this system in around $200, so it is not very costly also.

You can use hot water demand system with any of the tankless water heater. But keep one thing in mind that when you use demand pump with tankless water heater the flow should be able to power on the water heater.

Therefore, with a hot water demand system, time, water and money can be saved. They also provide the convenience of instant hot water whenever the hot water faucet is turned on.
